Josh Hoover Moves on to November Election in Strong Position to Win Assembly District 7

Democrat Ken Cooley’s big bucks and political games don’t help him in Statewide Primary Election

Folsom, CA - - The last report from the Sacramento County elections office has set the stage for a competitive run-off election between Folsom Republican Josh Hoover and Democrat Assemblyman Ken Cooley. Josh Hoover bested three other Republicans with a commanding 34% of the vote.

On the other hand, Cooley finished slightly over 50%, a disappointing number considering the resources he expended in the primary.

Current Election Results

33.98% Josh Hoover (R)

8.42% Ray Riehle (R)

5.55% Jeffrey Perrine (R)

1.11% Quintin Toshi Levesque (R)

50.91% Ken Cooley (D)

Ken Cooley and the Democrat Party invested hundreds of thousands of dollars promoting expelled Republican Jeffrey Perrine, Ken Cooley’s preferred run-off candidate, who only managed to garner slightly more than 6,000 votes districtwide. A clearly embarrassing number for Ken Cooley to attach himself to the Perrine campaign.

Below is a flashback of Jeffrey Perrine gloating about Ken Cooley and the Democrats investing $190,000 in his campaign.

The run-off election for the 7th Assembly District will be held in conjunction with the November Statewide General Election.
